The romantic TV-series that took the island by storm between 2015 and 2017 becoming one the greatest local television sensations.

The story starts in 2015 when a young business woman; Sylvana, is refurbishing an old bar inside Valletta’s famous Strait Street. During the renovations an old journal belonging to a young woman is found. Lydia’s struggles unravel as we are transported back to 1957 thanks to her journal, when she is forced to leave her gilded cage and controlling mother in search of a better life with her love, leaving a life of luxury behind for the freedom she yearns for. However when she finds herself stranded and abandoned in Valletta she befriends Lilly, a bubbly young barmaid who works and lives in the infamous street, who takes her in in return of reading and writing lessons. Strait Street is shown in its former glory where prostitution and murders are just one side of the story. We meet many other personalities, real or fictitious who take us back to this cultural and musical mecca.

The series aired for two season (48 episodes) on TVM with a viewership of more than 120,000 (according to the Media Warehouse Survey) and around 80,000 online on demand.
